LessThanGosh

Aug 30, 2022

Hello and welcome to KoalityGaming.com's Ambassador sneak peak Season 4! Here at Koality Gaming, we currently have two FF7FS Ambassadors. That means double the High End content, coming your way! LessThanGosh is going to break down the new content being added in Season 4, and as always Mrkoalahd will give his Koality Take on the balance notes! With that let’s hop right into:

Final Fantasy VII : The First Soldier Season 4 - Feast at the Golden Saucer

Map Changes :

Although we are not getting a new map in season 3, we are getting some very satisfying map changes. Similar to what we saw in Season 2 Midgar undercity map is seeing changes to the air space, as the Golden Saucer has arrived!

There are two locations you will find the Gold Saucer:

⁃Battle Square North West Corner of the map

⁃Wonder Square South West Corner of the map

Think of Battle Square as Colosseum injected with Mako, this is no place for games! Heavy amounts of monster spawns and what sounds like a guarantee epic monster spawn such as a Cutter or Scorpion Sentinel!

Wonder Square is for all this Risk / Reward players out there! Prize boxes spread throughout can drop items, but also may spawn monsters! Breaking boxes and defeating monsters also spin the Chance Reels! This is a system similar to what we saw of the DMW during the Crisis Core crossover event. Will the risk be worth the reward?

This is what you can spawn:

Plateside will also see some Map Changes:

New Job: Trickster

Season 4 will be the introduction of the Trickster. This style uses playing cards as their weapon and has skills that creates decoys of yourself and respawn points upon death! Slight of hand, movement / reposition, and providing your own third party surprise, I cannot wait to see what our skilled community can pull of with this Job!

Skills:

Seize - Increases gil dropped from defeated monsters!

⁃ Lv. 1: 50% up

⁃ Lv. 2: 75% up

⁃ Iv. 3: 100% up

Soul Drain Deck - Restore MP when using your ability!

⁃ Lv. 1: 1 MP

⁃ Lv. 2: 1.5 MP

⁃ Lv. 3: 2 MP

Drain Shot - Deal headshots to enemy candidates to restore your HP!

⁃ Lv. 1: Restore 10% of damage dealt

⁃ Lv. 2: Restore 15% of damage dealt

⁃ Lv. 3: Restore 20% of damage

Trait: Gold Trick

The trickster earns gil just by leveling up and increases their combat ability based on the total amount of gil obtained! Receive gil after each level up, for a total of 540 gil total earnable by reaching the max level.

Stats increase based on total amount of gil obtained (up to 1700).

⁃ Cooldown time decreases (up to 50%)

⁃ Critical rate increases (up to 20%)

Abilities:

Decoy Card - creates a copy of yourself to confuse opponents. The amount of HP the copy has is based off your amount of life at the time and the level of the ability (at level 3 taking 20% of your current HP). The decoy doesn’t just look pretty, it also attacks any candidates within a 100-meter radius, using whatever weapons you currently have in your arsenal. Whenever you feel like you might need a little extra firepower, your decoy has your back!

Marking Card - put half your HP into a card for a set period of time, if you die while the card is active you will respawn with the amount of life stored in the card. Don’t call it a comeback, you’re just saving a little piece of you to fight another day! Although you have mobility limitations while the card is active, you could decide to take on a fight you otherwise wouldn’t with the peace of mind that you will respawn at the marking card’s location.

New Materia: Tornado

This season will see the addition of a new support materia! Tornado does not do damage but, and this is one of the most satisfying additions coming IMO, nullifies Thunder, Bio, Gravity, Blind, Blizzard, Aero, Teleport!

New Guns:

Gil Toss Machine Gun - uses gil instead of ammo to attack and the attack power increases with your gil count. Shots fired at once and attack speed also increase with the more gil you have in your inventory. The question is, will you start hoarding your money in hopes you find this unique gun or wait until it’s in your person before going farming?

Chimeric Vengeance - the next gun to take advantage of mako rounds. Just like the Dual Wielder you can swap between two firing modes; a high-speed and 3-burst laser. This rifle’s range is no joke which gives it the ability to act as a sniper as well as an AR, covering both mid-to-long range encounters!

Balance Notes:

Hello Mr.Koala here, and it may not be what many of us wanted to see but S4 patch brings us more gun balance! For stanard guns we see buffs to the Mp60, Both Shotguns, and the Gyphon LMG. Special guns are either back or getting solid QoL Changes. Along with some additional adjustments to vehicles and monsters S4 is looking to shake things up a bit!

Standard Guns:

MP60 - For anyone who enjoyed blitz you probably became very familiar with the mp60. For me I've had a passion for the Mp60 for quite some time. Lethal Gaze users, that are needing a close range companion the Mp60 maybe exactly what you need! These buffs bring it even more inline with the Lethal and transition between the 2 should feel seamless IMO!

S7- Shotguns have always had an interesting fit in the meta, more often unfavorable. Its tough to tell how these changes will effect them overall, but I would expect some play in the early parts of the season.

Gryphon LMG - This is such a fun gun, if you get your hands on it. The ADS can be a bit rough to control, however, this faster wind up buff and a solid hip fire means less waiting more terminating!

Special Guns:

Polestar/Serpent Launcher - Both guns are getting good QoL changes but I'm not sure overall how effective they will be or if they are worth dropping another gun for.

Infernal Cannon - Very happy to see this gun return both firing modes can be used in varying situations.

FlareThrower - IT HAS RETURNED! IMO, This gun should have never been removed. The Flamethrower unfortunately fell victim to the developers trying to many changes at once to make a gun relevant and made it too powerful overall. Although, I think with more time many players would have overcome.(especially with seasons 3's changes to guns) It is back now with some nerfs that are hopefully in the middle ground and not just a revert to the first irrelevant version we saw!

MISC.:

The rest of the changes are small quality of life changes. Ifirit's recent buff definitely made this summon a menace so this should even it out. The thing here I'm most interested in is the Materia being dropped by monsters is being adjusted. It doesn't say how but will we finally see more monsters drop materia? We will find out in just a few short days!

Thank you all for reading this season 4 sneak preview! We here at Koality Gaming look forward to dropping in with you all soon!
